No March 14th entry can start without first wishing my sister a most happy and joyous birthday. And Simonster can't let any special occasion pass without getting in on the action, so my sister woke to find a large version of this image waiting in her inbox this morning. And if being greeted by a fat, retarded cat wearing a party hat isn't the right way to start a birthday, then I don't know what is.

Of course, another great way to start any day is with a U.S. victory in the Algarve Cup, which is precisely what happened today. The U.S. Women's National Team beat Denmark in the championship match and, suffice it to say, I'm mighty happy about that. This makes the U.S. the only country to have won the Algarve 5 times, and it also brings the team's unbeaten streak to 39. With the Women's World Cup just 6 months away, things are looking spiffy for the U.S. women.
