Stunning success for UP today. UP beat Rhode Island 8-0, with five different UP players scoring and a 31-0 advantage in shots. And, thanks to this win, not only did UP win the University of Washington/Nike Invitational, they actually set a record for the most goals ever scored in the tournament. Ah, yes, it's wonderful to see UP get back to their routing ways. Hopefully their success will continue on into the Portland Nike Invitational next weekend, where they will face the dreaded University of North Carolina. UNC has won eighteen national championships and they are one of just two teams to ever win a national title undefeated. Of course, the only other team that's won a national title undefeated is UP, and they did that last season, so it should be a ripping game between the two next Sunday. Keeping fingers crossed...
