Title: Compulsion

September 06, 2005

Typical of today: I accidentally spilled soda on my desk. The mess missed my iPod and only got on some bills, but I moved my iPod while I cleaned up. And where do you put an iPod for safe keeping? In a shoe, of course!

I was in a hurry to clean up and there was a shoe sitting on a box on top of my printer next to my desk, so I stuck my iPod in the shoe. It was just a quick, temporary spot to put it, not to mention pretty safe, because how often do you spill things in your shoes?

But then I forgot to get it out and ended up leaving the apartment without my iPod and didn't realize it until I was at my cafe. So I had to go all the way back home to get my iPod out of a shoe before I could take my walk.

Then, to top things off, I glued myself to my car. The glove compartment broke and, tired of having to duct tape the damn thing shut, I decided to superglue it shut. Not a bright idea.

The superglue shot out of the tube like a geyser, covering my hands, so I grabbed some napkins to clean my hands with. Now I have napkins superglued to my hands and, for a few moments, I was also superglued to the steering wheel. But the glove compartment is still broken, because glove compartments are the only thing superglue doesn't work on.

So, my iPod now has athletes foot, I have napkins permanently glued to my hands, and Ross laughed at me and offered to sand paper my hands. Sigh. It's a cruel world and, at the moment, I'm literally stuck to it.
