The Timbers lost tonight in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup, which eliminates them from the tournament. I'm disappointed, but not surprised. We were up against an MLS team and had to play without one of our best guys (red card in the 3rd round) so the loss wasn't a shock. Yeah, it would have been nice to win, but the Cup isn't part of league play, so this doesn't affect our chances at the playoffs, and winning our league is what counts.

And I would say that it was nice just to get out and see a game, except that it was several billion degrees in the stadium and everyone was on the verge of passing out. Heat stroke, dehydration, swimming in sweat, our team lossing... Such fun! But now I'm going to console myself by deep sea diving in a bathtub full of ice water. Jock Coustea would be proud.
