A just showered Ross, sporting a stylish bath towel, lounges in the recliner, while Simone makes herself at home on his back. There's nothing like a 20 pound cat stomping on you to help you relax.

July 04, 2005   Best view ever of fireworks. We went to the top of a tall parking garage that's on the waterfront to watch the show and discovered that the garage has a big, elevated helicopter landing pad on it. Suffice to say that watching fireworks from high above the city, perched on a helipad made for a great view. And, thankfully, no helicopters landed on us. Getting decapitated really would've put a damper on the evening.

Also interesting was that the building next to the parking garage houses the county jail and we could see the prison guards and inmates. They all crowded round the jail windows when the fireworks started, which added perspective, celebrating 'the land of the free and home of the brave' with the incarcerated peeking over our shoulder.
