Title: Compulsion

June 18, 2005   Ho-ly cow! Still stunned. Can barely comprehend it... Worst home loss in Timbers history. Previously, the worst home loss for the Timbers was a 5-1 loss to Chicago in 1979. But, 26 years later, the Timbers broke that record with a 5-0 loss to Rochester tonight.

The Timbers were, as Ross phrased it, craptacular. They played so awful it was almost impressive, because that many talented players all having the worst game of their lives on the same night takes some doing. I'm thinking they were drugged, either that or someone replaced the team with Folgers Crystals.

Thankfully, I'm too stunned to be depressed. My poor Timbers loving brain just can't comprehend this loss, so there's no craptacular pain to accompany it. Although watching Rochester form a conga line after their goals was hard to take but. even then, there's the solace that their conga lines sucked and it looked more like they were humping each other.

So at least there's that. The Timbers lost gracefully and at no point looked like they were humping each other. Go Timbers!
