Title: Compulsion

May 25, 2005   Timbers withdrawl. Two weeks since the last game. Whoever drew up the schedule this year had all the planning skills of a drunk hedgehog. Some teams have played 10 games, others have only played 4, and now the standings are almost entirely determined by the numer of games played, not number of games won or loss. A team that has lost a game is in 1st place, with three undefeated teams taking 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Go figure.

Sigh. I think we may need to get PETFF (People for the Ethical Treatment of Footy Fans) involved, because forcing the fans to go weeks without a game quite simply qualifies as torture. At the very least, the USL should be humane enough to temporarily put fans to sleep during the long gaps between games to cut down on our pain. That and it would also prevent us from plotting the death of whoever came up with the schedule.

But, if nothing else, at least there is a game this Saturday. And, boy, are we ever going to enjoy and savour every minute of that game, seeing as there won't be another home game for two weeks. Grumble.
