Title: Compulsion

May 07, 2005   Wedding day for our good friend, Ringo. And normally I'm not fond of weddings - they're usually too long, too formal, and too forced for my taste - but this was a damn good wedding. Garden casual at the home of a friend, short but very sweet ceremony with a small group of family and close friends in attendance and a fun reception with great food and music.

Of course, what made it truly great was the bride and groom, Kamarin and Ringo. We've known Ringo for years and love him to pieces, which is why we were thrilled when he met Kamarin. She is truly one of the nicest, kindest people you could ever hope to meet and I am so happy Ringo found someone like her to spend his life with. They make a great pair and they found the best life, and love, has to offer in each other.

So Ringo is now married and it was wonderful getting to see him embark on his happily ever after. And, to top off an already sentimental day, when we got home Ross looked at me and said, "it's a good thing, don't you think, when weddings remind you of how much you love being married." Given my propensity to deflect emotion with sarcasm, I was tempted to ask if he'd had too much champagne or forgotten who he was married to, but instead managed to stifle my acerbity in favor of a kiss.

Now if only the Timbers had won, they'd get a big kiss too, but it was another tie. But still no losses. On second thought, maybe they do deserve a kiss. xoxo
