Title: Compulsion

April 30, 2005   Another Timbers game, this one unattended. By us, anyway. It was in Seattle, so I'm sure all 3 of Seattle's fans showed up, along with a few hundred Timbers fans. We would have liked to go, but Ross had to work, that and he has a hard time coaxing me into my travel crate.

Timbers won, and it was the usual surly game that's typical of this rivalry. I swear, when Portland and Seattle play, you're never sure if it's soccer or an amped up version of the World Wrestling Federation. Two yellow cards for Portland and four yellow cards and a red card ejection for Seattle, which just goes to show I'm not biased when I say the Sounders are a bunch of thugs who couldn't corner kick their way out of a box.

As for Ross and I, we listened on the radio and found a new and geeky way to enjoy a game together. iChat (Apple instant messaging). Ross was in the spare bedroom working and I was in the front room at my desk, and we iChatted through the game. Well, Ross iChatted and I iSwore, iScreamed, iPaniced, and iCheered. And, ultimately, iWon. :)
